muntedkowhai: fantastic crochet jewelry
{ admiral on leave necklace with copper chain }
when one hears "hand-crocheted necklace," it does sound like a bit of summer camp craft, or "fuzzy afghan tea cozy" as tiffany put it. but muntedkowhai's crocheted lace confections, paired with asymmetrical vintage buttons and chains, or arranged symmetrically in hand-factured winglets... have never seen their like. original and compelling.
portland-based muntedkowhai is a research scientist by day who combines her globetrotting background (new zealand, malaysia, hong kong) into delightful off-kilter conversation pieces.

pretty as a peacock
I've had several very cool clients recently tell me they're incorporating peacock feathers into their wedding decor. If they are any indication of trends to come, the hair accessories at Portobello are sure to be a big hit! They have more than just peacock feathers, check them out!

favorite favors!
Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I've been sick as a dog, with some sort of killer cold. I'm on the mend though, and happy to be back!
How cute are these? I thought they would make fantastic favors, for the wedding or the shower. Handmade in India, available thru the National Geographic website.

Bed of Roses
I am having a lazy afternoon browsing the internet and feasting on chocolate (all guilt free after this morning's half marathon, whoop!) and have come across this great website I've not seen before- www.heylandandwhittle.co.uk, I particularly love these rose bed shaped cocoa butter soaps that would be just perfect as favours. xox

back!
I'm so happy to be back! While I have no news (they didn't do an ultrasound this morning, so I'll have to wait a few weeks to find out if it's a boy or a girl) I am excited to get back to blogging and to work at Kenzie Kate. Thank you to everyone who left name suggestions. I will revisit this problem in a few weeks!
I got an exciting email from Becky Kelso last week about her new website and corresponding sale. Enter the code "OPAL" at checkout until the end of March and get a 25% discount off anything on her new site. I thought I'd post about that first off, in case any of you might like to do a little discount shopping!

viabella: custom bridal clutches
{ ivory linen silk-lined clutch }
the perfect little bridal bag, lined with silver dupioni silk, with your choice of pearl/dupioni silk rose (shown above), shabby chic linen flower, or just plain vanilla. the ivory version (bottom left, below) has a pale "something blue" silk interior, but i think my favorite has to be the scooters.
viabella loves custom orders, will work with your fabric, and also makes cosmetic cases, zipper pouches, and eyeglass cases for great bridal party gifts.
